Dr. Green Mom’s Favorite Golden Milk Recipe
This easy-to-follow recipe will guide you in making your own Golden Milk, also known as a Turmeric Latte.
⏲️ Time
10-15 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups of coconut milk (coconut milk is my favorite for this recipe, but any milk will do)
- 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon of Ginger-Ease™ or ground ginger, or 1/2 inch of fresh ginger (peeled)
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon or a cinnamon stick
- 2-3 peppercorns or a pinch of ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (remember, no honey under age 1!)
Directions
- In a small pot, whisk together milk, coconut oil, and spices.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil while stirring continuously.
- If using ground spices, simmer for 2-3 minutes; if using whole spices, simmer for 8-10 minutes. Whisk frequently during the simmering process and just before serving to create a frothy texture.
- Top with cinnamon.
